What happens if…?

My projects are born out of this childlike curiosity. What happens when I shine a laser on this crystal ball with a brain? What happens when I play Flappy Bird with a classic key?
I love things that move, things that turn, make sounds and special patterns. I love classic materials: brass, steel, copper, glass and wood. I like to see things change under my hands, on the lathe or the milling machine. But I also like to first draw complex parts on the computer and then mill them on my CNC machine.

I like the contrast between classic materials and modern technology. I was just the right age – 14 years old – to experience the introduction of the Commodore 64. It taught me how to code.
My projects typically are a combination of hardware and software, of craftsmanship and technology. I work with Arduinos, Raspberry Pis, MOSFETs, H-Bridges, Hall sensors, resistors, diodes and capacitors. I design my own printed circuit boards and have them manufactured in China. I know my way around AliExpress and my classic Swiss lathe that cost more than a new Volkswagen Beetle 70 years ago. But above all, I want to amaze people, challenge them, mislead them. My art is not to look at, but to play with!
